2. The main character is Hester Prynne. She is young woman. Because of she found guilty of adultery. She must wear a scarlet “A” on a sign of shame.
3.Roger Chillingworth he is a small,
misshapen man. And he is Hester’s long-lost husband, who has been presumed lost
at sea.
Dimmesdale is reverend.
Pearl is a complex character, her primary function within the novel is
as a symbol.
4.Chillingworth is Hester’s husband.
Dimmesdale
is her lover.
Pearl is her daughter with Dimmesdale.
5.Hester lives a quiet, somber life with her
daughter, Pearl. She is troubled by her daughter's unusual character. As she grows older, Pearl becomes
capricious and unruly. the church members suggest Pearl be taken away from
Hester. From this event we can found Hester is incompetent mother for Pearl’s education.
6.In my opinion, I think I can use guilt. Everyone
want to do a legalism. But everyone will make sin in their life. They will
guilt for their sin. Such as Hester, I think she is a hero at that time. She
protect her lover and raise her daughter, Pearl.
7. I think the novel based on Chillingworth
vows to find a man who is the child’s father.
8.In the story, Hester has been found guilty
of adultery. By the other way, that relaters to real life, I think the people
is really traditional thinking at the Hester’s time. She just wants her
happiness. But Hester cannot do it for social ethics. Now, everything is
different. We can find own happiness.
9.In my opinion, I connection the story
made with character relationships, the story still around Hester’s sin,
Chillingworth’s revenge, and Pearl’s grown, Dimmesdale’s guilt.
10. What is Hester's role in society? What is
her view of this role?
Who is the greatest sinner?
What is meant by the title "the minister`s
vigil"?
How has Hester's appearance changed ?
What does Roger Chillingworth make Hester
promise to him?
A: He asks that
Hester not reveal who he is or that they are husband and wife.
